New York State Health officials have notified us of an alarming cluster of new syphilis cases in young men who have sex with men with sexual contacts in the Cayuga/Tompkins/Tioga/Cortland/Broome and Northern Pennsylvania areas. If you have placed yourself at risk in recent month through unprotected sex, please get tested for syphilis at your local health department. Symptoms of early syphilis often imitate other infections and then disappear. You will still be infected, even without syptoms, and can infect others.
