Drug and Alcohol Services provides programs to NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services licensed agencies; including basic HIV, sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, sexuality issues in recovery, and much more. If there is a health-related program need, our educators work to develop a program that will meet the unique needs of staff or clients. All services are free.

At STAP, HIV prevention is our foundation. Using a harm reduction approach on the street and in treatment settings, we assist and empower individuals to change their behaviors in ways that make the most sense in their lives. Behavior change is a process and we cannot afford to lose someone by judging behavior. Every life counts!

STAP's Drug and Alcohol Services provides programs that can be used for CASAC (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) credentialing or recredentialing. These programs include HIV Prevention Among Substance Abusers, Dying and Death, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling Issues Related to Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Working with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered client in Substance Abuse Services.
