Volunteers are at the heart of our mission. Volunteers first began the work of meeting the challenge of HIV/AIDS in our community. They were the "Friends Who Care," supporting those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in the face of indifference, fear, and discrimination. Their dedicated work resulted in the creation of Southern Tier AIDS Program. Volunteers are still "Friends Who Care," bringing their skills, compassion, and commitment to all the work that we do.
Volunteers are valued and essential partners at STAP. They work with staff, board members and people living with HIV to make a real difference in our communities and in the lives of our friends and neighbors living with HIV/AIDS.
STAP offers volunteers:
- Training
- Flexible scheduling
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth
- Variety of service opportunities
- Respect as a member of the STAP team
