Join us for a panel discussion on safe consumption spaces “Everywhere But Safe”, is a documentary about public injection in NYS.

We hope you will come to the exhibit and join us for our panel discussion and film screening to learn more about how safe injection facilities and their importance in combating the opioid epidemic.

Nationally, there have been 500,000 opioid-related deaths between 2000 and 2015. Since 2009, annual drug overdose deaths in the United States have surpassed the number of deaths from both car accidents and gun violence. With hundreds of thousands of our community members and loved ones struggling to prevent disease and death in the face of addiction, we urge our communities to consider a compassionate response to lift up and support people who use drugs: the establishment of safe consumption spaces.

We recognize that there are many stakeholders with valid concerns and feelings when it comes to fighting this epidemic. In order to bring people into care and to address the issues that stem from and drive drug use (e.g. trauma, homelessness), we must come together as family, caregivers, community members, healthcare and social service providers, public and community health workers, people in recovery, and law enforcement to discuss a public health response.
